Technical Information

Talks by invited speakers

• Speakers are asked to give their talks using their own laptop computers, for which an overhead video projector will be available (using a standard VGA video cable).
  
  Alternatively you may bring a CD-ROM or USB stick with a PowerPoint or PDF file and use the computer provided by us (which will be running Windows XP).
  
  In either case please contact us at least 15 minutes before the beginning of your session to make sure that your presentation will run smoothly.

  A standard overhead projector for transparencies will also be available.

• The time for each talk is 25 min. + 10 min. discussion.
  
  

Posters by the participants from Augsburg

• The poster session takes place on Monday, October 6, 2008, 20:00.
  
  
• Please mount your poster on Monday (but not on Sunday).
  
  
• The maximum poster size is
  • Landscape: 117cm tall and 147cm wide
  • Portrait: 145cm tall and 115cm wide

Internet access

• All the rooms have LAN internet connection for your laptop. A patch cable is provided.
  
  
• Additional LAN internet connection for your laptop is available in room B19 where also the conference secretary's office is located. WLAN is available in the Kaminzimmer lobby and some other parts of the conference center.
  
  
• A laptop for basic WWW access will be available in the conference secretary's office (room B19).

• On Sunday, October 5, the conference desk opens at 17:00. The welcome reception
  begins at 18:00 in the Kaminzimmer lobby. Dinner starts at 19:00.
  
  
• There is no smoking in the entire house.
  
  
• The conference center has a nice heated indoor swimming pool.
