This is the third international workshop organized by the
Collaborative Research Center (SFB 484) of the
Institute of Physics at the University of Augsburg. It
will focus on recent experimental and theoretical progress
in the research on transition metal oxides, e.g.,
materials aspects, structural properties, ordering of
spin, charge, and orbital degrees of freedom, and
metal-insulator transitions.
The workshop is financed by the Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) as part of the funding of the
University of Augsburg's Collaborative Research Center
(SFB 484) on "Cooperative Phenomena in Solids:
Metal-Insulator Transitions and Ordering of Microscopic
Degrees of Freedom". Participation in the workshop is by
invitation only.
The workshop will take place at the Conference Center
Haus St. Ulrich in Augsburg. The city of Augsburg
was founded by the Romans more than 2000 years ago and is
the second oldest town in Germany.
